Deloitte’s Dan Helfrich Rises To Chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting

Earlier this year in April of 2019, Deloitte announced that it had elevated Dan Helfrich to the role of Chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting. Just 21 years after he first started at the firm, Dan finds himself at the top, but it’s likely not a surprise to those who know him best. The youthful consultant always kept his focus on making others around him perform at their best.

A fresh graduate of Georgetown University, both undergrad and MBA, he joined Deloitte and never left. Today, he leads more than 50,000 professionals who help clients solve their most complex business issues. His division’s expertise spans a number of areas including technology modernization and innovation, human capital, strategy and analytics, customer experience, and enterprise operations.

Dan's role and influence across the firm is broad - he is a member of the firm’s US Executive Committee as well as the US Management Committee. Throughout his tenure with Deloitte, Dan has led large customer-centric transformations for both public and private sector clients.

Previously, he led the Government & Public Services practice.  As part of his responsibilities he worked on assignments impacting US cabinet-level agencies, over 40 states, and more than 60 of the top 100 universities.  Some of the nation’s biggest challenges came across his desk relating to all levels of government.

Dan also served as Deloitte’s chief strategy officer for Human Capital and led the Civilian Government sector.  He has a genuine interest in leadership and can be seen writing and speaking on topics such as purpose-driven leadership, elevating citizen and customer experience, and the future of work.
