Atos Sets Up One-Stop Shop For Cloud Moves

The use of cloud computing resources has seen a surge this year. So it’s not surprising that solution providers are committing big bucks to helping their clients make the shift to the cloud. French solution provider Atos, for example, recently announced that it is spending $2.4 billion over the next five years on a new initiative that will boost customers’ migrations to the cloud.

Atos OneCloud will serve as a one-stop shop, designed as a modular approach so that customers will be able to move their entire landscape to the cloud.

“We believe cloud is more than ever the new normal for Digital and Atos is uniquely positioned to deliver the full value of Cloud to its clients,” said Elie Girard, Atos CEO. “Atos OneCloud is the only solution on the market that blends industry customized consulting with application transformation expertise in an end-to-end set of services. It is the answer to help further accelerate clients’ digital transformation into secure and decarbonized cloud environments.”

Girard added that Atos clients can now co-design their own Atos OneCloud Plan, which combines a unique set of 10 offerings. The initiative is delivered in close collaboration with a partner ecosystem including Dell Technologies (including Dell EMC and VMware), Google Cloud, IBM - Red Hat, Microsoft Azure, SAP, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

In fact, Atos recently announced that it further extended its collaboration with AWS—a next step in the strategic alliance that started in 2012. As an AWS Well-Architected Partner, Atos has invested in achieving several AWS competencies including Migration Delivery Partner.

Atos, which also entered into negotiations earlier this year with the shareholders of French cloud consulting and integration company Edifixio to acquire it, posted revenue of 11.59 billion euros last year. The company generated about 60% of its group revenue in Europe and the United Kingdom and close to 30% in the United States. It has approximately 7,000 cloud experts, 30,000 application experts and 10,000 data center and network experts on staff.

With these new offerings and partnerships, Atos has solidified itself as a major competitor among managed services giants who are facilitating companies’ digital transformations and their moves to the cloud.
